... which got me hooked on photography. Back in the olden days, photos were taken with SLR cameras (not the digital ones, mind!) and then developed in dark rooms - an art, which is still popular today, but which has rapidly been pushed to the sidelines by digital cameras and smartphones. I'm guilty as charged, when it comes to the latter - and I actually pick a new phone solely for the quality of the in-built camera.
Long story short: Even though I got "sidelined" by my studies, where I discovered my passion and love for the English & Scottish Middle Ages, I've been passionate about photography ever since that school trip to a little Danish island.
I have been known to drive travel companions, family and friends alike nuts with my incessant need to take pictures of pretty much everything - almost driving my mum to throw my camera into the Arno in Florence.
After moving to the Algarve in November 2019, this passion has reached a new high - and you've probably bumped into me at one of the many beautiful beaches at some point or another, if you can call yourself lucky enough to live here.
I hope you enjoy my pictures. May they be a light to you in dark places, when all other lights go out. May they be windows to a different world (or my view of it) that will brighten up your days - especially in times like these.
